Key Area 1: Reflective Practitioner
A composition of music is created by a musical composer. Music is written and revised many times before it is complete. Through reflection, a composer can look back at his or her music and decipher which notes to changes or when to speed up or slow down the tempo. Composers make changes to improve the overall sound of the piece. Educators also reflect on their work. Positive change cannot occur if teachers do not take the time to look back and decide what went well and what went wrong during any given school day. More than just reflecting, we educators need to also attempt to fix or enhance our areas of weakness.
